EIC 基金
EIC FUND 是 EIC 的慈善机构，在推动加拿大工程学院促进和推进加拿大工程知识和事业的悠久历史方面发挥着有意义的作用。其主要目标是支持对卓越的认可以及加拿大工程和工程教育的进步。它是一个注册的加拿大慈善机构，对其的捐款可以通过正式收据来确认。

实施质量保证计划，表彰继续工程教育和专业发展的优秀提供者。这些提供者承诺在提供其课程时遵守国际公认的流程标准，作为颁发 EIC 认可的继续教育单元 （CEU） 或同等条件的条件。
每年在享有盛誉的颁奖晚会上，向 EIC 组成协会成员中的杰出工程师颁发奖学金和高级奖章。

EIC 基金的使用由 EIC 理事会（其成员是其受托人）做出决定。只有 EIC 组成社团及其活跃成员才能申请 EIC FUND 的资助。要申请，申请人必须直接向他们自己的组成协会提交一份完整的资助申请（见随附的表格），该协会将审查此类请求，如果认为合适，则将其推荐给 EIC 理事会。

Dr. Yang Gao is a Professor at the University of Calgary and is a world expert in satellite-based
navigation and positioning systems (GNSS/GPS). He has made exceptional contributions to the
development and dissemination of high precision GNSS/GPS navigation and positioning
technology nationally and internationally. Dr. Gao"s research work has led to over 350 publications
in prominent journals and conference proceedings.
His patented technologies were successfully implemented into commercial products, and software
systems were licensed to researchers and companies worldwide. He has supervised more than
50 Ph.D./MSc who have themselves received scores of awards.
Dr. Gao is a Fellow of the U.S. Institute of Navigation and the International Association of Geodesy
and was recognized by prestigious awards nationally and internationally (e.g the APEGA
Research Excellence Award, the Canadian Institute of Geomatics Intermap Award, the U.S.
Institution of Navigation Thurlow Award).
Ladies and gentlemen, and Ms. President, please welcome Yang Gao as a Fellow of the
Engineering Institute of Canada。

Dr. Xinyu Liu is the Percy Edward Hart Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the
University of Toronto. He is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions in paperbased microfluidics, microrobotics, and flexible/stretchable sensors, with successful applications
in disease diagnostics and treatment, basic biology research, and wearable electronics.
He has published 106 articles in high-impact journals such as Science, Science Robotics, Nature
Communications, and IEEE Transactions, 84 conference articles, 3 books, and 13 book chapters.
He is a co-inventor of 13 US/Canadian patent applications (6 granted), with 4 licenced to industry.
Dr. Liu has received many awards such as the Canada Research Chair in Microfluidics and
BioMEMS, the Douglas R. Colton Medal for Research Excellence, the Christophe Pierre Award
for Research Excellence from McGill University, and 8 Best Paper Awards from major engineering
and medical conferences. He is a Fellow of CSME and ASME.
Dr. Liu is the Corresponding Chair of the IEEE-RAS Technical Committee for Micro/Nano Robotics
and Automation and the Chair of the IEEE-RAS TC Cluster on Health and Medical Robotics. He
has served on the editorial boards of 8 international journals and organized many IEEE/ASME
conferences in different roles including general/program/awards (co-)chair and steering/program
committee member.
